How does it know what my file is?

It reads the first few kilobytes and matches the signature every format starts with, so a photo saved as `document.pdf` is still recognised as a photo. Extensions are only consulted to tell apart things that are identical on disk — plain text, Markdown and CSV are all just text.

How close is a Word document to the original?

Headings, bold and italic, lists, tables and page breaks all carry over; Word's exact fonts, columns and floating images do not. It is a clean, readable document rather than a pixel match — for a pixel match, use Save as PDF inside Word itself. Nothing here can run Word's layout engine, and any browser tool that claims otherwise is uploading your file to a server that can.

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes, and by default they become a single PDF in the order you arrange the cards. Turn off Combine and you get one PDF per file, zipped together.

What happens if one file will not convert?

The rest still do. A file that cannot be read is skipped and named afterwards with the reason, so one bad attachment never costs you the other nine.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The detection, the conversion and the writing all happen in this tab — which is why a contract or a payslip is safe here. Turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.
